The band provides a unique blend of Scottish, Irish and English Ceilidh Sounds with a hint of Americana.

Our name comes from ancient Roman Road of Ermine Street, now the A15 running through Lincolnshire, and is where we are based.

We like to think (i.e. hope!) we have gained quite a reputation for our "toe-tapping" unique blend of guitar, melodion, fiddle, whistle and 5 string banjo. Our latest line-up straddles the generations, keeping alive traditional folk music and dance for all age groups, with a sound that is absolutley top notch (see the video and reviews below).

The band generally comprises - (depending on availability)

Graham - our very experienced caller whose energy, leadership and helpful instruction makes all the dances easily within the grasp everyone.

Steve - plays guitar and 5 string banjo. His years of folk playing experience provides a solid rhythm for the dancers to dance to.

Richard - Piano Accordion and Melodion - an accomplished folk player.

James - has a solid "fiddling" style, who also plays saxophone, recently at the Royal Albert Hall!.

Jasmine - our multi-instrument musician, playing flute, violin, and tin whistle.

With such a line-up who could resist joining in with our varied dance sets? - including all the old time favourites such as "Strip the Willow", the "Gay Gordons" and our local square dance "The Louth and Market Raisen Quickstep".

The most important thing is that everyone has a good time, something we are proud to say, happens at every ceilidh, because we enjoy it so much and so do our audience!.

We have a high quality PA System and are fully insured (PLI Certificate) and safety tested (PAT Certificate). We are available to play at events throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and surrounding counties.

Dear Steve and band, You absolutely made the night go with a swing on Saturday. We so appreciated the way you accommodated timings and space available,and abilities/ages! Hi Steve, I just wanted to drop you a note to say a huge huge thank you for the ceilidh on Saturday. Graham was a fantastic caller and really got us all up dancing - across the generations! One of my highlights of the wedding was having nanny and gran up on the dance floor alongside Tom's little cousins. The music was just beautiful too. I really appreciated you all being so flexible with the timings as well - I realise we were way off schedule so thanks for being so accommodating! Hello Ermine Street Ceilidh Band, We had our wedding with you on 2nd September 2016 and we want to send you a massive thank you! We had an amazing time and so did our guests. Everybody commented on how great you were and for some of our guests it was their first time experiencing a ceilidh and they were pleasantly surprised.Our guests still talk about it now!
